How do I know if I have really covered and understood a NEET syllabus item?
Seeing a topic in your textbook is not the same as learning it, and finishing a section does not always mean you can answer questions on it. AIandMe gives you different ways to check each part of that journey.
A useful way to think about it is:
Find where the syllabus item is taught → check whether you have completed that learning → check your understanding → practise it → review anything that still needs work.

AIandMe maps relevant NEET syllabus items in the app to NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 chapters and sections.

First, find where the NEET syllabus item is taught
In a supported Physics, Chemistry or Biology chapter, open the NEET Dashboard and look at the NEET syllabus items table.
AIandMe maps relevant NEET syllabus items to the chapter sections where those ideas are studied.
This helps answer:
- Which section teaches this syllabus item?
- Which parts of the chapter are connected to it?
- Are past NEET questions mapped to those areas?
The mapping does not mean that you have personally completed or understood the syllabus item. AIandMe's Topics Covered information shows items mapped to the chapter, not a count of items you have finished.

Next, check whether you have completed the learning
Once you know which section contains the syllabus item, look at your Study Plan.
Your Study Plan tracks the learning days you have worked through:
- NS — not started
- WIP — in progress
- Done — completed
Your chapter progress is based on the Study Plan days you have completed.
However, Study Plan progress answers:
“Have I completed this planned learning?”
It does not answer:
“How well do I understand it?”
AIandMe does not mark each individual NEET syllabus item as Completed. Instead, use your Study Plan and checked work together.

Check whether you understand what you studied
After learning the relevant material, use the assessment that matches what you want to check.
A Daily Quiz checks the learning from a Study Plan day.
A Chapter-level Test gives you a broader check across the chapter.
Your checked AI Study Room quizzes and tests contribute to your competency.
This tells you something different from progress:
Progress tells you how much planned learning you have completed.
Competency reflects what your checked AI Study Room quizzes and tests are showing about your understanding.

Test the same learning with NEET questions
NEET also requires you to recognise and apply ideas in questions. Where available, look at past NEET questions connected to the relevant section.
You can use View Questions in AI Study Room when you want to inspect the past NEET questions mapped to what you are studying.
When your plan includes the required NEET access, you can also create a NEET PYQ test in Practice With AI and focus it on selected chapters or sections.
Past NEET questions can help you ask:
- Can I recognise this concept when it appears as a question?
- Can I apply what I learned instead of only recalling the explanation?
- Are there question patterns I repeatedly misunderstand?
AIandMe includes the mapped PYQs currently available to it. Their historical frequency does not predict what will appear in a future NEET exam.

Try fresh questions too
If you only practise PYQs, there is a risk that familiarity with old questions can feel like understanding.
Use an AI-generated test when you want fresh questions based on the chapter or sections you choose.
Learning-based questions can help you practise understanding and application.
NEET-based questions provide fresh NEET-style practice. They are not actual previous NEET questions, and the NEET-based style is still being improved.
Fresh questions help you check whether you can use the concept beyond a question you have already seen.

Pay attention to wrong answers and guesses
A correct answer does not always mean that you were confident.
If you were unsure, mark the question Guessed while taking a Practice Test.
After the test, review:
- incorrect answers;
- questions you marked Guessed;
- repeated mistakes from the same chapter or section;
- your answering pace where it is useful.
Questions you got wrong, and Guessed questions that can come back for revision, may later appear in a Revision test.
Review your Practice Test Result, look for wider patterns in Testing Insights and set up a Revision test when you are ready.

Go back when your results show a gap
If a question exposes a gap, do not simply memorise the correct option.
Return to the relevant section.
You might:
- use Read for the full explanation;
- use Revise to revisit the key ideas;
- ask Ask AI about the exact part you misunderstood;
- use Explain With AI on a checked Practice Test answer where available;
- practise the area again.
The goal is to understand why the answer works and then see whether you can apply that understanding again.
So, have I really covered and understood it?
AIandMe does not give you one badge that says “NEET syllabus item mastered.”
Instead, use these checks together:
Where is it taught? Check the NEET syllabus mapping.
Have I completed the relevant learning? Check your Study Plan progress.
What do my checked assessments say? Look at Daily Quizzes, Chapter-level Tests and competency.
Can I apply it to NEET questions? Practise available PYQs.
Can I handle a fresh question? Use targeted AI-generated practice.
Am I still making mistakes or guessing? Review your Practice Test results and practise those areas again.
No single check proves mastery. Together, they give you a much better picture of whether you have simply seen the syllabus item, completed the learning around it, or can understand and apply it in questions.
